Texas High School Basketball - Porter ripped by Veterans Memorial

The Veterans Memorial Chargers basketball team scored 67 points and held the host Porter Cowboys to 9 in the Chargers league triumph on Friday.

The Chargers now sport a 21-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lopez for a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Tuesday, January 17. Veterans Memorial will meet a Lobos team coming off a 53-35 league win over Weslaco East (Weslaco, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 15-12.

The Cowboys (0-13) will now prepare for their contest against Mercedes (Mercedes, TX). The Tigers enter the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 11-11 record. In their last contest, Mercedes triumphed over Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX), 40-27, in a league contest.
