Tennessee High School Basketball - Westmoreland tops Smith County

January 13, 2023: Westmoreland, TN 37186

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Westmoreland Eagles (Westmoreland, TN) and the visiting Smith County Owls (Carthage, TN), saw Westmoreland's basketball squad knock off Smith County by a count of 47-29.

With the victory, Westmoreland upgrades its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Cannon County (Woodbury, TN) to play the Lions in a 2A District 6 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 7-6. Cannon County won 51-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Huntland (Huntland, TN)

Next up, the Owls play the Macon County Tigers (Lafayette, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Smith County will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 74-44 league loss to White County (Sparta, TN).
