West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hunt Warriors (Wilson, NC), 29-25 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Johnston upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Wildcats host South Johnston (Four Oaks, NC) to clash with the Trojans in a bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-3. South Johnston won 28-10 in their recent league bout against East Wake (Wendell, NC)

Next up, the Warriors clash with the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons (Pikeville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Hunt will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Golden Falcons go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 40-22 non-league win over Southern Wayne (Dudley, NC).
