Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Northside Vikings (Roanoke, VA), 32-21 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Staunton River upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Glenvar (Salem, VA) to clash with the Highlanders in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The Highlanders go into the bout with a record of 0-3.

Next up, the Vikings clash with the William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Northside will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Terriers go into the bout with a 8-1 record after their 28-23 non-league loss to Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA).
