Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bessemer City Yellow Jackets (Bessemer City, NC), 46-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Highland Tech upgrades its record to 4-8 on the season. The Rams host Bradford Prep (Charlotte, NC) to clash with the Bears in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Bradford Prep won 52-29 in their recent non-league bout against Jackson Day (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Yellow Jackets clash with the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Bessemer City will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Golden Lions go into the bout with a 4-6 record after their 33-32 non-league loss to Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC).
