Monache Marauders (Porterville, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting El Diamante Miners (Visalia, CA), 30-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Monache upgrades its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Marauders travel to Redwood (Visalia, CA) to play the Rangers in a bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Rangers come into the bout with a record of 0-1. Redwood lost 1-0 in their recent non-league bout against Independence (Bakersfield, CA)

Next up, the Miners play the Mt. Whitney Pioneers (Visalia, CA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 17. El Diamante will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 38-30 league win over Golden West (Visalia, CA).
