Wiregrass Kings (Dothan, AL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Evangel Christian Lightning (Alabaster, AL), 51-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Wiregrass upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Kings host Sherwood Christian Academy (Albany, GA) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 1-3.

Next up, the Lightning play the Tuscaloosa Home Educators Warriors (Northport, AL) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Evangel Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 9-1 season record.
