California High School Basketball - Helix thwarts Monte Vista

The Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) basketball knocked off the visiting Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA), 50-40 in Friday's league test.

The Highlanders (1-7) will now prepare for their test against Lincoln (San Diego, CA). The Hornets go into the non-league test with a 6-6 record. In their last test, Lincoln went down by La Jolla (La Jolla, CA), 33-31, in a league test.

The Monarchs now own a 4-12 record. They play next when they travel to Granite Hills for a test on Tuesday, January 17. Monte Vista will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 56-38 non-league win over West Hills (Santee, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-4.
