The Weldon Chargers basketball team (Weldon, NC), was overwhelmed 72-37 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting KIPP Pride Pride (Gaston, NC)
The Pride now possess a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Warren County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 17. KIPP Pride will battle a Eagles team coming off a 55-49 non-league win over Vance County (Henderson, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 10-2.
The Chargers (1-6) will now prepare for their battle against Southeast Halifax (Halifax, NC). The Trojans come into the non-league battle with a 2-9 record. In their last battle, Southeast Halifax trounced Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC), 72-46, in a league battle.
