Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Franklin Knights (Franklin, PA), 55-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Aliquippa upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Quips travel to Shenango (New Castle, PA) to play the Wildcats in a WPIAL 2A 1 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 9-4. Shenango lost 60-57 in their recent non-league bout against Mercer (Mercer, PA)

Next up, the Knights play the Warren Dragons (Warren, PA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Franklin will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 10-1 record after their 53-44 non-league loss to Erie (Erie, PA).
