In Saturday's non-league outing, the Sayre Spartans (Lexington, KY) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Berea Pirates (Berea, KY), by a margin of 83-59.

The Spartans (12-4) will now prepare for their outing against Scott County (Georgetown, KY). The Cardinals go into the District 42 outing with a 5-12 record. In their last outing, Scott County was trounced by Frederick Douglass (Lexington, KY), 72-53, in a league outing.

The Pirates now own a 11-5 record. They play next when they travel to Corbin for a non-league outing on Monday, January 22. Berea will clash with a Redhounds squad coming off a 76-66 non-league win over Madison Southern (Berea, KY). The Redhounds record now stands at 10-4.
