The Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA) basketball nipped the host Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA), 35-32 in Saturday's league test.
The Herons (10-6) will now prepare for their test against Windsor Forest (Savannah, GA). The Knights go into the AA Region 3 test with a 8-7 record. In their last test, Windsor Forest was tipped by Toombs County (Lyons, GA), 63-46, in a league test.
The Bears now own a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to Toombs County for a AA Region 3 test on Tuesday, January 16. Pierce County will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 68-37 non-league win over Twiggs County (Jeffersonville, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-2.
