Orofino Maniacs (Orofino, ID) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Kellogg Wildcats (Kellogg, ID), 57-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Orofino upgrades its record to 2-5 on the campaign. The Maniacs host St. Maries (St. Maries, ID) to play the Lumberjacks in a 2A Central Idaho bout on Thursday, January 18. The Lumberjacks come into the bout with a record of 3-5. St. Maries won 50-39 in their recent league bout against Priest River (Priest River, ID)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Lakeland Hawks (Rathdrum, ID) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Kellogg will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 7-5 record after their 75-44 non-league win over Timberlake (Spirit Lake, ID).
