In Saturday's league outing, the Towns County Indians (Hiawassee, GA) basketball squad edged the visiting Washington-Wilkes Tigers (Washington, GA), by a count of 56-51.
The Indians (11-4) will now prepare for their outing against Greene County (Greensboro, GA). The Tigers go into the A D2 Region 8 outing with a 12-4 record. In their last outing, Greene County held off Lincoln County (Lincolnton, GA), 70-68, in a league outing.
The Tigers now hold a 4-9 record. They play next when they host Lake Oconee Academy for a A D2 Region 8 outing on Tuesday, January 16. Washington-Wilkes will clash with a Titans squad coming off a 58-31 league win over Aquinas (Augusta, GA). The Titans record now stands at 4-10.
