The Weir Red Riders basketball team scored 80 points and held the visiting Fairmont Senior Polar Bears to 57 in the Red Riders non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Red Riders now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wheeling Central Catholic for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 18. Weir will battle a Maroon Knights team coming off a 62-57 non-league win over Monroe Central (Woodsfield, OH). The Maroon Knights record now stands at 10-4.

The Polar Bears (0-11) will now prepare for their contest against Preston (Kingwood, WV). The Knights enter the Big Ten contest with a 8-4 record.
