North Carolina High School Basketball - Pender nips Wallace-Rose Hill

January 13, 2024: Teachey, NC 28464

Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs (Teachey, NC), 35-33 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pender upgrades its record to 2-7 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC) to play the Vikings in a 1A/2A Waccamaw bout on Friday, January 19. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 0-7. West Columbus lost 48-14 in their recent league bout against South Columbus (Tabor City, NC)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Kinston Vikings (Kinston, NC) in a 2A East Central bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Wallace-Rose Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 56-25 league win over South Lenoir (Deep Run, NC).
