Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) fans left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their ice hockey team hold off the visiting Burrillville Broncos (Harrisville, RI), 2-1 in a league match.
The Crusaders (14-0) will now prepare for their match against Mount St. Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI). The Mounties enter the State Championship Division match with a 3-6 record. In their last match, Mount St. Charles Academy tipped Cumberland (Cumberland, RI), 8-1, in a league match.
Next up, the Broncos clash with the Cumberland Clippers (Cumberland, RI) in a State Championship Division match, on Friday, January 19. Burrillville will attempt to advance on its 5-5 season record. The Clippers enter the match with a 2-5 record after their 9-1 league loss to Smithfield (Esmond, RI).
