The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Chartiers Valley Colts (Bridgeville, PA) and the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), observed Chartiers Valley's basketball team edge Mars by a score of 68-65.

The Colts (12-1) will now prepare for their challenge against West Allegheny (Imperial, PA). The Indians come into the WPIAL 5A 4 challenge with a 5-7 record. In their last challenge, West Allegheny was tipped by Moon Area (Moon Township, PA), 61-47, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Fightin' Planets encounter the Blackhawk Cougars (Beaver Falls, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 4 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Mars will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record.
