Nooksack Valley Pioneers (Everson, WA) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Meridian Trojans (Bellingham, WA), 54-53 in a league match.
With the victory, Nooksack Valley advances its record to 6-5 on the year. The Pioneers host Blaine (Blaine, WA) to meet the Borderites in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest match on Thursday, January 16. The Borderites enter the match with a record of 2-9. Blaine lost 67-37 in their recent league match against Anacortes (Anacortes, WA)
The Trojans now own a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Oak Harbor for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest match on Thursday, January 16. Meridian will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 71-38 league loss to Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-10.
