The St. John Paul II Catholic Lions basketball team scored 59 points and limited the visiting Mountainside Wolves to 43 in the Lions league triumph on Monday.
The Lions now have a 4-11 record. They play next when they host Glendale Prep Academy for a 2A West game on Thursday, January 16. St. John Paul II Catholic will confront a Griffins team coming off a 80-79 league loss to Kingman Academy (Kingman, AZ). The Griffins record now stands at 12-7.
With the loss, Mountainside falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Wolves host San Pasqual Valley (Winterhaven, CA) to confront the Warriors in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 14. The Warriors go into the game with a record of 3-9. San Pasqual Valley lost 57-32 in their recent league game against Salome (Salome, AZ)
