In Monday's non-league contest, the host Vinita Hornets basketball team scored a close 39-35 win over the Pryor Tigers.
The Hornets (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Miami (Miami, OK). The Wardogs come into the Verdigris Valley contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Miami was tipped by Inola (Inola, OK), 78-71, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Tigers battle the Edison Eagles (Tulsa, OK) in a 5A District 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Pryor will attempt to better on its 2-10 season record. The Eagles come into the contest with a 4-8 record after their 54-46 non-league win over Glenpool (Glenpool, OK).
