The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Bloom Blazing Trojan (Chicago Heights, IL) and the host Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), observed Bloom's basketball team overwhelm Thornwood by a score of 80-28.

The Blazing Trojan (15-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Kankakee (Kankakee, IL). The Kays come into the Southland challenge with a 12-8 record. In their last challenge, Kankakee trounced Thornton (Harvey, IL), 54-32, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Dyett Eagles (Chicago, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 15. Thornwood will attempt to improve on its 2-18 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 46-35 league loss to Northside (Chicago, IL).
