In Monday's non-league contest, the host Winston Red Birds basketball team scored a close 33-31 triumph over the Union Star Trojans.
The Red Birds (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against Albany (Albany, MO). The Warriors go into the non-league contest with a 10-2 record. In their last contest, Albany nipped North Andrew (Rosendale, MO), 49-45, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Trojans battle the Northland Christian (Kansas City, MO) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Union Star will attempt to better on its 0-14 season record.
