Next, the Trojans clash with the Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, January 14. Essex will attempt to upgrade on its 2-0 season record. The Drifters come into the test with a 2-5 record after their 26-21 non-league loss to West Point (West Point, VA).

The Royal Tigers (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Mathews (Mathews, VA). The Blue Devils come into the non-league test with a 4-3 record. In their last test, Mathews was overwhelmed by Lancaster (Lancaster, VA), 37-30, in a non-league test.
