The Oneida Baptist Institute Mountaineers (Oneida, KY) basketball felled the host Middlesboro Yellowjackets (Middlesboro, KY), 49-41 in Friday's non-league test.
The Mountaineers (6-7) will now prepare for their test against North Laurel (London, KY). The Jaguars go into the District 49 test with a 11-4 record. In their last test, North Laurel thwarted Madison Central (Richmond, KY), 77-65, in a non-league test.
The Yellowjackets now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Harlan County for a District 52 test on Tuesday, January 18. Middlesboro will encounter a Black Bears squad coming off a 87-74 league win over Harlan (Harlan, KY). The Black Bears record now stands at 12-4.
