    • Georgia High School Basketball - Central can't hold off Americus-Sumter

    January 14, 2022: Americus, GA 31709

    The Americus-Sumter Panthers basketball team scored 35 points and restricted the visiting Central Chargers to 32 in the Panthers league victory on Friday.

    The Panthers now sport a 11-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crisp County for a AAA Region 2 contest on Saturday, January 15. Americus-Sumter will battle a Cougars team coming off a 57-55 league loss to Jackson (Jackson, GA). The Cougars record now stands at 6-7.

    The Chargers (12-4) will now prepare for their contest against Northeast (Macon, GA). The Raiders come into the non-league contest with a 11-4 record. In their last contest, Northeast edged Lamar County (Barnesville, GA), 60-47, in a league contest.
