Virginia High Bearcats (Bristol, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA), 55-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Virginia High upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Bearcats host Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA) to clash with the Titans in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 9-4.

Next up, the Trojans clash with the Central Wise Warriors (Norton, VA) in a Mountain bout, on Tuesday, January 17. John Battle will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 66-53 league loss to Abingdon (Abingdon, VA).
