The Bear River Bruins (Grass Valley, CA) basketball nipped the visiting Center Cougars (Antelope, CA), 49-47 in Saturday's league test.
The Bruins (11-5) will now prepare for their test against Colfax (Colfax, CA). The Falcons go into the Pioneer Valley League test with a 15-2 record. In their last test, Colfax got by Center (Antelope, CA), 65-34, in a league test.
The Cougars now own a 4-12 record. They play next when they host Lindhurst for a Pioneer Valley League test on Monday, January 16. Center will encounter a Blazers squad coming off a 50-32 league loss to Wheatland (Wheatland, CA). The Blazers record now stands at 1-14.
