La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM), 63-28 in a non-league game.

In their next game, the Bears face the West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 2 game, on Wednesday, January 18. La Cueva will attempt to move on its 11-5 season record. The Mustangs enter the game with a 8-5 record after their 74-28 non-league win over Belen (Belen, NM).

With the defeat, Cibola moves to 3-12 on the year. The Cougars travel to Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM) to face the Jaguars in a 5A District 1 game on Wednesday, January 18. The Jaguars enter the game with a record of 6-8. Atrisco Heritage Academy won 44-21 in their recent non-league game against Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM)
