Metter Tigers (Metter, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs (Twin City, GA), 44-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Metter upgrades its record to 3-10 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Claxton (Claxton, GA) to play the Tigers in a A D1 Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 10-8. Claxton won 53-27 in their recent non-league bout against Toombs County (Lyons, GA)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Montgomery County Eagles (Mt. Vernon, GA) in a A D2 Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 20. Emanuel County Institute will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 17-1 record after their 52-28 league win over Jenkins County (Millen, GA).
