New Mexico High School Basketball - Pecos holds off Penasco

Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Pecos Panthers (Pecos, NM) and the visiting Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM), saw Pecos's basketball squad hold off Penasco by a tally of 35-29.
With the victory, Pecos improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Panthers host Laguna Acoma (New Laguna, NM) to confront the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 20. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 11-7.
Next up, the Panthers confront the McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Monday, January 16. Penasco will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 41-26 non-league loss to Mora (Mora, NM).
