The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Shannon Red Raiders (Shannon, MS) and the host Amory Panthers (Amory, MS), observed Shannon's basketball team overcome Amory by a score of 59-44.

The Red Raiders (8-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS). The Braves come into the 4A Region 1 challenge with a 15-7 record.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the Itawamba Agricultural Indians (Fulton, MS) in a 4A Region 1 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Amory will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 9-7 record after their 49-44 league win over Ripley (Ripley, MS).
