In Tuesday's league contest, the host Bowie Volunteers basketball team scored a good 61-48 triumph over the Lamar Vikings.

The Volunteers (17-8) will now prepare for their contest against South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX). The Warriors go into the 6A Region I District 8 contest with a 15-11 record. In their last contest, South Grand Prairie topped Haltom (Haltom City, TX), 64-44, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the Grand Prairie Gophers (Grand Prairie, TX) in a 6A Region I District 8 contest, on Friday, January 17. Lamar will attempt to better on its 8-17 season record. The Gophers go into the contest with a 11-9 record after their 74-42 league win over Arlington (Arlington, TX).
