Kentucky High School Basketball - Great Crossing routs Western Hills

In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Great Crossing basketball team scored a big 102-55 triumph over the Western Hills Wolverines.
The (14-4) will now prepare for their contest against Frankfort (Frankfort, KY). The Panthers go into the District 41 contest with a 11-3 record.
In their next game, the Wolverines confront the Frankfort Panthers (Frankfort, KY) in a District 41 contest, on Friday, January 17. Western Hills will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record.
First Quarter
Great Crossing jumped out to a quick lead hitting 3 3's to start the game. Gage Richardsons 3 44 seconds into the game was his 1000 point scored as a Warhawk.Vince Dawson III took over as he had 14 points 3 rebounds and 1 assist in the quarter. The Warhawks smothering defense created 4 turnovers that led to 7 points.
Second Quarter
The second quarter saw LJ Holman and Malchi Moreno dominate the game. LJ had 9 points and Malachi had 6 points as they led the defensive attack and created 3 more turnovers resulting in 6 more points off turnovers. Javeon Campbell for the Wolverines tried to keep the game close by scoring 9 points in the quarter but the Warhawks were not going to take their foot off the pedal.
Third Quarter
The third quarter opened with a flurry. Great Crossing went on a 22 to 2 run to start the quarter and put the game away. Lj Holman had 6 points and 2 ast, Vince Dawson III had 9 points 2 assists, Gage Richardson had 7 points 1 assist and 1 steal, and Malachi had 4 points 3 assists and 3 blocks. The Warhawks starters got some much needed rest with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd and never saw the court again.
Fourth Quarter
The 4th quarter saw the Warhawks Ozzy Ismail take over for a career night (13 points). He scored 9 of the 15 points in the quarter. In the end the Warhawks finished with 31 assists (school record) on 44 shots. Only had 3 turnovers and forced 12 turnovers on Western Hills. This win moved Great Crossing to 2-0 in the 41st District.
