The Hamlin Chargers (Hayti, SD) basketball were winner over the host Sioux Valley Cossacks (Volga, SD), 59-39 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Chargers now possess a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to Webster for a non-league bout on Thursday, January 16. Hamlin will play a Bearcats team coming off a 70-34 non-league loss to Clark/Willow Lake (Clark, SD). The Bearcats record now stands at 2-7.
With the loss, Sioux Valley falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Cossacks host McCook Central/Montrose (Salem, SD) to play the Fighting Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, January 17. The Fighting Cougars go into the bout with a record of 6-4. McCook Central/Montrose lost 65-58 in their recent non-league bout against Beresford (Beresford, SD)
