The Weslaco East Wildcats basketball team scored 46 points and limited the visiting Harlingen South Hawks to 32 in the Wildcats league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now possess a 21-4 record. They play next when they host Edcouch-Elsa for a 5A Region IV District 32 game on Friday, January 17. Weslaco East will confront a Yellowjackets team coming off a 51-49 league win over Pace (Brownsville, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 10-8.

With the loss, Harlingen South falls to 10-12 on the campaign. The Hawks host Mercedes (Mercedes, TX) to confront the Tigers in a 5A Region IV District 32 game on Friday, January 17. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 9-14. Mercedes won 66-48 in their recent league game against Porter (Brownsville, TX)
