In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Melissa Cardinals basketball team scored a big 61-11 triumph over the Greenville Lions.

The Cardinals (18-8) will now prepare for their contest against Sherman (Sherman, TX). The Bearcats go into the 5A Region II District 9 contest with a 2-19 record. In their last contest, Sherman was trounced by McKinney North (McKinney, TX), 54-34, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Lions confront the Walnut Grove Wildcats (Prosper, TX) in a 5A Region II District 9 contest, on Friday, January 17. Greenville will attempt to better on its 5-22 season record. The Wildcats go into the contest with a 13-14 record after their 39-34 league win over Denison (Denison, TX).
