The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Tascosa Rebels (Amarillo, TX) and the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), observed Tascosa's basketball team overwhelm Lubbock by a score of 68-34.

The Rebels (26-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Panhandle (Panhandle, TX). The Panthers come into the non-league challenge with a 18-3 record. In their last challenge, Panhandle trounced Clarendon (Clarendon, TX), 53-26, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Westerners encounter the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Lubbock will attempt to improve on its 12-14 season record. The Plainsmen come into the challenge with a 27-4 record after their 83-28 league win over Caprock (Amarillo, TX).
