The Weldon Chargers (Weldon, NC) basketball toppled the host Northwest Halifax Vikings (Littleton, NC), 49-35 in Tuesday's league bout.
The Chargers now possess a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to KIPP Pride for a 1A Tar Roanoke bout on Friday, January 17. Weldon will play a Pride team coming off a 81-14 league loss to North Edgecombe (Tarboro, NC). The Pride record now stands at 0-9.
With the loss, Northwest Halifax falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Warren County (Warrenton, NC) to play the Eagles in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout on Friday, January 17. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 5-5. Warren County won 52-47 in their recent league bout against Northampton County (Gaston, NC)
