South Carolina High School Basketball - Thornwell nips Whitmire

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Thornwell Saints (Clinton, SC) and the host Whitmire Wolverines (Whitmire, SC), observed Thornwell's basketball team edge Whitmire by a score of 35-29.

The Saints (4-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Greenwood Christian (Greenwood, SC). The Hawks come into the non-league challenge with a 7-2 record. In their last challenge, Greenwood Christian edged Laurens Academy (Laurens, SC), 36-35, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Wolverines battle the McCormick Chiefs (McCormick, SC) in a A Region 1 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Whitmire will attempt to improve on its 1-12 season record. The Chiefs come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 53-18 non-league loss to Fox Creek (North Augusta, SC).
