The Spartans now possess a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to C.B. Aycock for a game on Friday, January 17. Smithfield-Selma will confront a Golden Falcons team coming off a 58-53 league loss to West Johnston (Benson, NC). The Golden Falcons record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Southern Wayne falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Saints host South Johnston (Four Oaks, NC) to confront the Trojans in a non-league game on Wednesday, January 15. The Trojans go into the game with a record of 3-6. South Johnston lost 51-41 in their recent non-league game against Hunt (Wilson, NC)
