Next, the Hornets face the Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS) in a 5A Region 4 game, on Friday, January 17. East Central will attempt to advance on its 10-6 season record. The Gators come into the game with a 11-2 record after their 2-1 league win over Stone (Wiggins, MS).

The Golden Tornadoes (9-10) will now prepare for their game against Vancleave (Vancleave, MS). The Bulldogs come into the 5A Region 4 game with a 1-12 record. In their last game, Vancleave was overwhelmed by Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS), 4-2, in a league game.
