The Monroe Academy Volunteers basketball team (Monroeville, AL), was overwhelmed 79-25 in Monday's league battle with the host Bessemer Academy Rebels (Bessemer, AL)

The Rebels now possess a 15-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clarke Prep for a AISA AAA Region 2 battle on Thursday, January 18. Bessemer Academy will battle a Gators team coming off a 74-28 league loss to Morgan Academy (Selma, AL). The Gators record now stands at 0-9.

The Volunteers (0-5) will now prepare for their battle against Morgan Academy (Selma, AL). The Senators come into the AISA AAA Region 2 battle with a 6-8 record. In their last battle, Morgan Academy trounced Clarke Prep (Grove Hill, AL), 74-28, in a league battle.
