The Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME) basketball nipped the host Hall-Dale Bulldogs (Farmingdale, ME), 58-51 in Monday's non-league test.

The Black Bears (8-1) will now prepare for their test against Mountain Valley (Rumford, ME). The Falcons go into the non-league test with a 5-5 record. In their last test, Mountain Valley got by Winthrop (Winthrop, ME), 60-48, in a non-league test.

The Bulldogs now own a 4-5 record. They play next when they travel to Waynflete for a C South test on Wednesday, January 17. Hall-Dale will encounter a Flyers squad coming off a 65-42 non-league loss to St. Dominic (Lewiston, ME). The Flyers record now stands at 7-3.
