Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS) and the host Jefferson Davis County Jaguars (Bassfield, MS), saw Sumrall's basketball squad knock off Jefferson Davis County by a count of 62-52.

With the victory, Sumrall upgrades its record to 16-3 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Purvis (Purvis, MS) to play the Tornadoes in a 4A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, January 18. The Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 11-3. Purvis won 61-60 in their recent league challenge against Lawrence County (Monticello, MS)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Hazlehurst Indians (Hazlehurst, MS) in a 3A Region 6 challenge, on Friday, January 19. Jefferson Davis County will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record.
