North Carolina High School Basketball - Shelby can't get by Crest

The Shelby Golden Lions basketball squad (Shelby, NC), was nudged 71-70 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC)

With the victory, Crest advances its record to 11-1 on the year. The Chargers host South Point (Belmont, NC) to meet the Red Raiders in a 3A Big South battle on Friday, January 17. The Red Raiders enter the battle with a record of 9-6. South Point lost 63-55 in their recent league battle against Huss (Gastonia, NC)

The Golden Lions now own a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bessemer City for a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont battle on Tuesday, January 21. Shelby will meet a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 68-58 league loss to Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 10-7.
