First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Northeastern Eagles (Elizabeth City, NC), 54-52 in a league match.
With the victory, First Flight advances its record to 7-6 on the year. The Nighthawks host Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC) to face the Panthers in a 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal match on Friday, January 17. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 4-6. Pasquotank County lost 71-57 in their recent league match against Currituck County (Barco, NC)
The Eagles now own a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Currituck County for a 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal match on Friday, January 17. Northeastern will face a Knights squad coming off a 66-59 non-league win over Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA). The Knights record now stands at 10-3.
