The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the New London Wildcats (New London, OH) and the host Mapleton Mounties (Ashland, OH), observed New London's basketball team knock off Mapleton by a score of 48-34.

The Wildcats (11-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Western Reserve (Collins, OH). The Roughriders come into the Firelands challenge with a 3-10 record. In their last challenge, Western Reserve dropped by Crestview (Ashland, OH), 42-36, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mounties battle the Plymouth Big Red (Plymouth, OH) in a Firelands challenge, on Friday, January 17. Mapleton will attempt to improve on its 11-3 season record. The Big Red come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 42-29 non-league loss to Lucas (Lucas, OH).
