Ohio High School Basketball - Wellington thwarts Oberlin

January 15, 2025: Wellington, OH 44090

The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Wellington Dukes (Wellington, OH) and the visiting Oberlin The Phoenix (Oberlin, OH), observed Wellington's basketball team knock off Oberlin by a score of 40-29.

The Dukes (8-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Columbia (Columbia Station, OH). The Raiders come into the Lorain County 8 challenge with a 10-5 record. In their last challenge, Columbia prevailed over Black River (Sullivan, OH), 67-10, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the The Phoenix encounter the Firelands Falcons (Oberlin, OH) in a Lorain County 8 challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Oberlin will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 60-28 league win over Clearview (Lorain, OH).
