The South Aiken Thoroughbreds nipped the visiting Strom Thurmond Rebels basketball team by a tally of 24-22 in Wednesday's non-league game.
The Thoroughbreds now possess a 7-7 record. They play next when they host Midland Valley for a AAAA Region 4 game on Friday, January 17. South Aiken will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 65-43 league loss to Aiken (Aiken, SC). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-12.
With the loss, Strom Thurmond falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Rebels host American Leadership Academy (Lexington, SC) to confront the Patriots in a AA Region 2 game on Friday, January 17. The Patriots go into the game with a record of 0-4. American Leadership Academy lost 53-24 in their recent non-league game against North (North, SC)
